Geotechnical Engineer - EPCm Australia + Canada

Job Description Principal Responsibilities: * Plan and execute field investigations, drilling programs and geological mapping and construction supervision. * Prepare technical reports and specifications. * Oversee the work of junior engineers and designers (drafters) Rock * Analyze and design rock structures, tunnels, underground and surface excavations, rock bolting/anchoring design for stability of structures and grout curtain/drainage design for control of uplift and seepage of dams and other structures Soil * Dam design * Design of earthworks and foundations
Requirements * Geotechnical Engineer or Civil Engineer with a solid background in rock mechanics and foundation design, planning and executing field investigations, drilling programs and geological mapping. Experience in hydroelectric power facilities and other industrial structures would be an asset. * 5 years of experience in the geotechnical or geological engineering sector * Experience in rock mechanics would be an asset * Demonstrated knowledge of dam safety, geotechnical investigations, embankment design, and tailings dams would be an asset * For some positions the following experience would be an asset: * Conceptual and feasibility studies of hydroelectric projects would be an advantage. Layout of hydroelectric facilities, and design/analysis of underground elements and surface rock excavations including rock bolting/anchoring * Assessment of geotechnical parameters and failure mechanisms for stability analysis of dams and other components of hydroelectric projects * Seepage analysis and grout curtain design * Rehabilitation and dam safety work
