Junior Quantity Surveyor

Location: 10/4 Rotation Scotland

Who you’ll be working for:
A large, highly respected Irish Civil engineering construction company, with offices across Ireland and Scotland, carrying out large heavy civil projects, due to an increased work load and new projects, have a requirement for a Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their operations, working on a 10/4 rotation between Scotland and Ireland.

What you’ll need to have:
The successful candidate will have a construction / Civil engineering / Quantity surveying degree, 2+ years experience working as a quantity surveyor / site engineer with knowledge of FIDIC & NEC3 forms of contracts.
A site based role, suited to candidates with a civil site based back-round. Site engineers interested in makng a move into quantity surveying will also be considered.

The work will be offered on a 10/4 rotation with travel and accommodation provided. Full training and opportunities for progression are on offer to the successful candidate, working on major civil projects.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Demonstrate the ability to apply and comply with statutory legislation and regulations
  • Provide estimating or receiving training in estimating in order to perform this function for the business, preparation of tenders as appropriate
  • Update and maintain contract register highlighting payment conditions.
  • Provide backup information such as measurements and support to Head Office in clearing payments and accounts
  • Liaising with suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Ensuring all subcontractors are contractually tied in e.g. insurance details, retention, etc.
  • Highlighting areas of concern / loss on any part of the contract
  • Oversee all contractual issues
  • Oversee all commercial aspects of the contracts, support site staff in understanding the contract documents in order to satisfy the clients requirements and maximise revenue/variations.
  • Assist with or prepare monthly applications and internal accounts
  • Working closely with Finance & Commercial in maximising profit on the contracts
What you’ll get in return:
An excellent package will be put in place for the successful candidate, with a salary in the region of £30,000 - £35,000 dependent on experience, Accommodation and Travel.
