Mechanical Estimator - Cork

Azon continues to work closely with a Mechanical contractor who are looking for an Estimator to come on board. Their office is based close to the City.

Our client is 35 years in business and one of Irelands leading Mechanical Contractors serving the industrial/pharmaceutical sector. Specialists in design, project management and construction of HVAC systems, cleanrooms and heat recovery systems.

* You will work closely with the senior estimator in pricing all aspects of mechanical tenders,
* You will work closely with the consulting engineers and subcontractors, prepare the financial elements of the tender,
* gathering and sourcing pre-project information.
* You will then be involved in post tender negotiations and work closely with the construction team relating to contract variations.
* Measuring from plan drawings and measurements to produce fully priced detailed bills of quantities including labour hours and material costs
* Preparing tender + contracts documents, including bills of quantities
* Identifying, analysing + developing responses to commercial risks
* Analysing outcomes and writing detailed progress reports
* Providing advice on contractual claims
* Tracking costs and labour through the project
* Preparing costs for variations
* Producing monthly valuations
* Certifying progress claims and payments to contractors against work completed
* Prepare subcontract packages for procurement, agree contracts and manage through to final account


* Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Economics or Building Services a strong advantage.
* Minimum 3 years' experience in estimating / quantity surveying/mechanical engineering within the industrial sector.
* Strong knowledge and experience in tender preparation and submission.
* Excellent IT skills required, experience of 3D Cad and Revit an advantage.
