Our client is a highly established joinery and fit out contractor with many years experience. Their projects have included many of the highest profile, successful and largest construction projects throughout the south and they UK. With an unrivalled track record they oversee projects across residential, commercial, public sector and retail and undertakes projects which range in value from £500k-£10m
Due to a steady upturn in projects , my client is now looking to appoint a quality advisor.
This is a great opportunity for someone with a degree in a related subject who is already within a similar role successfully managing the quality of a number of projects with sound technical knowledge of IT and methodologies on Quality Assurance.
The role will support the Operations Department with the implementation, adherence and monitoring of efficient processes and systems designed to ensure consistency and continual improvement of product quality, in compliance with established and future regulatory policies and procedures.
Monitor and analyse installation process performance and notify management of potential quality issues that may affect installation quality or regulatory compliance.
Review installed plots and process records as needed. Compile and verify all documents associated with installation. Initiating, tracking and closing of internal snags and client snags.
To work unsupervised to ensure that the business goals are achieved in a timely and efficient manner.
To carry out timely inspections and produce reports to Snr Management for each site.
To produce site specific trade quality plans. Review and update trade quality plans on a regular basis as per company policy or as required by the client.
To produce site specific Quality Assurance check sheets for review by Site Management.
Compile site specific O&M Manuals for each project and update as required.
Attend and contribute to post-contract meetings.
HND, degree or postgraduate qualification in quality management.
Membership of Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
Experience in / knowledge of quality assurance, good manufacturing practices and validation practices / principles.
An understanding and knowledge of regulatory requirements with regards to the construction industry including NHBC standards.
KEY SKILLS / ATTRIBUTES / CORE COMPETENCIES:
You will be a strong and confident QA Manager with a construction background, ideally within the carpentry and joinery sector or at least with this experience.
An aptitude for construction finish to high standard.
Effective computing, literacy and numeracy skills
Close and accurate attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively with staff in both site based and office based positions.
An ability to multitask, without feeling pressured, to ensure deadlines are met.
Effective and efficient time management, with the ability to assess and analyse that project progress is in-line with set projections.
Good at analysing and solving problems.
Good at coming up with new and innovative suggestions for product or process improvement.
