Quantity Surveyor Job Description
A Joint Venture between two of the UK’s most recognisable contractors require a qualified Quantity Surveyor to work from their Chester office. You will be expected to manage multiple contracts at several sites throughout the region including North Wales. These will range from new build to maintenance contracts on construction / property developments. The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for supporting the Area Commercial Manager on contractual, commercial and risk elements of the service delivery. Providing assistance in estimating will also be a key part of your role.
Quantity Surveyor Duties
Assist Area Commercial Manager in monitoring and developing cost models for managing all works, staff and overheads
Assist in risk analysis of contract conditions, costs, sub-contractors and commercial implications of any changes agreed with the client
Provide advice and guidance to area commercial manager in the preparation and presentation of works proposals, reviews and updates
Assist in the development and implementation of commercial risk management procedures
Assist in preparing dispute avoidance strategy and dispute resolution
Maintain and develop systems for the timely reporting of KPI’s and financial indicators to highlight possible abatements
To provide administrative support where to area commercial manager
Quantity Surveyor Qualifications & Experience Required
HND / Degree or equivalent qualification in quantity surveying is essential
Commercial experience in construction, property maintenance or related field including; Developing Cost Models, Risk analysis & management, Preparation of work proposals / tenders, Dispute Resolution
Excellent working knowledge of commercial process
Good knowledge and experience of working within strict ISO9000 policies and processes
