Senior Quantity Surveyor - Sydney

Position Summary:
This position will suit an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who are looking to join a forward-thinking firm with huge potential for personal and career development and growth. 

The successful candidate will manage the cost elements of various projects from initial concept to final account settlement.  Projects may include hotels, data centers, office fit-outs, health care, leisure, light industrial etc. The Senior Quantity Surveyor/Associate must demonstrate the ability to optimize projects costs, implement value engineering, and ensure value for money whilst still achieving and delivering the highest standards and quality. The successful candidate will be motivated, have a ‘hands on’ attitude and possess strong career development ambitions.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with business development/networking
  • Prepare new fee proposals for the business
  • Maintain client relationships 
  • Lead a team of three to four Quantity Surveyors
  • Review and sign off work prepared by Senior and Junior Quantity Surveyors
  • Prepare estimates and cost plans using CostX software
  • Prepare reports, valuations, letters, financial reports
  • Analyze tenders and prepare tender reports 
  • Assist in the settlement of construction disputes/loss and expense claims
  • Prepare and agree final accounts
  • Perform other duties as may reasonably be required for an Associate

Desired Experience and Education:
  • 7+ years’ experience (minimum of 4 in Australia)
  • MRICS/MAIQS membership accreditation
  • BSc essential in a construction-related discipline
  • Australian permanent resident/citizen
  • Business development skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • CostX experience – advantageous
  • Firm understanding of contracts 
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ideal candidate will be results driven, team player and self-motivated with excellent client relationship skills
