Senior Coordinating Engineer

Senior Coordinating Engineer required for a well established Irish Building Contractor, listed in the Top 10 Construction CIF Contractors for a number of years. Our client would have a long history of high profile projects across the board with values from €10-15m to €100m+. They have also won numerous awards for Commercial, Residential, Educational & Public Works contracts.


  • Managing a team of graduate engineers, site engineers and senior site engineers.

  • Managing all aspects of QA for the basement waterproofing and RC frame including development of the project quality plan and inspection and test checklists.

  • Reviewing design drawings ahead of programme and identifying any design concerns/possible construction sequence issues and issuing RFI’s to the design team as required.

  • Compiling schedules of information in line with contract programme.

  • Compiling and tracking individual package programmes and ensuring clear communication between trades to meet programme deadlines.

  • Chairing daily white board meetings with all subcontractors to enable efficient site logistics.

  • Technical submittals, temporary works design and LEED coordinator.

  • Tower crane and mobile crane appointed person and supervisor.

  • Compiling bi-weekly progress reports including all aspects from health and safety to design information to programme & financial reporting.

  • Chairing weekly production meetings with subcontractors.

  • Chairing weekly information meetings with design team.

  • Reviewing subcontractor method statements and risk assessments

  • Weekly meetings with the project QS to discuss project variations and subcontractor payments

  • Mentoring junior engineers including setting goals/targets, monitoring and performance managing/completing performance appraisals


Candidates should have appropriate engineering qualifications and a minimum of two to three years work experience gained with a building contractor. Excellent IT skills, together with a sound working knowledge of surveying instruments and equipment, is expected, while self starters and problem solvers with the ability to work well in teams can expect to enjoy career advancement opportunities within a relatively short timeframe.
