Published 11 Jan 2008

The Irish commercial development market continues to offer construction job opportunities in 2008 with a number of major commercial developments expected to start in the coming months.

The first of these, in Navan, has just got off the ground as Blackrock International Land and Lagan Developments announce they have started work on a joint venture 160,000-sq ft retail park on a 28.8-acre site in Co Meath. The Sisk Group is the contractor on the scheme.

The project, valued at over €70m to build, is located on Athboy Road, close to the link road to the new M3 motorway currently under construction. The joint venture team has a further eight acres at the site, which it plans to develop at a later date.
