(Data Centre)
 
We are currently working an electrical engineering managerial role for a leading Irish M&E contractor in the Data Centre sector in Denmark. The role will assume responsibility for engineering matters, and an opportunity to progress further within a highly respected organisation.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Project Manager
  • Manage the Project Engineering Team, assign tasks, oversee engineering development
  • Interrogate the project design and identify Value Engineering Solutions
  • Manage Drawing Production and Delivery Process
  • Manage the Technical Submittal Delivery Process
  • Review Technical Submittals Prior to Submission for Approval
  • Liaise with vendors, suppliers, sub-contractors, specialist designers, manufacturers, etc. with respect to the specification, validation and value Engineering of products and equipment to be supplied to the project
  • Manage the RFI process, seeking to clarify queries with the design team
  • Develop and build project cable and cable termination schedules
  • Seek to clarify queries with the design team through the request for information (RFI) system
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with clients other members of the design team and contractors on technical and commercial issues
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with clients other members of the design team and contractors on technical and commercial issues
  • Lead Pre-Construction Engineering activities and the production of information including, design development, construction details, technical submittals, sub-contracts, etc
  • Lead, services co-ordination exercises and solve co-ordination issues
  • Provide technical support to the estimating, procurement, commercial, marketing and construction teams
  • Manage / Co-ordinate the Engineering Support team,
  • Work with Project Engineering Leads to ensure consistency in Quality of Engineering Delivery on Projects,
  • Work with the Group BIM and Quality Managers to ensure consistency in project delivery and coordinate resources,
  • Manage / oversee the continuous Improvement of Company Engineering Procedures and Processes,
  • Manage / oversee the continuous development of the Engineering team technical capabilities,
  • Provide technical support to marketing, estimating and project teams,
  • Attend Client / Project meetings,
  • Assess Project Requirements and assist with the set up and implementation of Project Engineering Teams,
  • Execute Project Audits to ensure Compliance,
  • Manage & Review Engineering Appraisals,
  • Produce & Issue Engineering Bulletins and encourage knowledge sharing,
  • Foster a culture of Continuous Improvement through the application of Company Policies and Procedures.
 
Candidate Profile:
  • Strong technical ability in all aspects of Electrical Engineering Services
  • Proactive with a strong ability to work independently and without supervision
  • Minimum 8-10 years previous experience within the construction industry is desirable
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Knowledge & experience of current EN and IEC Standards
  • Knowledge & experience of NEN Standards is advantageous
  • Experience of client, vendor & contractor interaction & management
  • Proactive, a good communicator with the ability to work well with others in a multifunctional project team
  • Experience in Amtech, Dialux, AutoCAD and MS Office Suite Software
  • Good knowledge and proficiency in using Navisworks suite of tools
  • Professionally Registered or working toward Professional Registration.
