Civils Estimator Kildare

Civil Engineering Estimator
Based at company’s Head Office in Kildare.
Required to complete Company tender submissions, both commercial and technical elements – working with the Commercial Director (and assisted by engineering and quantity surveying functions when necessary) – and prequalification submissions, as well as keeping pricing libraries updated.
Would suit professionally qualified civil engineer/ quantity surveyor.
Typically 3+ years’ estimating experience of public, urban roadworks.
5+ years civil engineering experience overall.
Other relevant sectors of the Company’s business includes: airport infrastructure, port works, deep drainage, other piped/ ducted utilities, structural concrete work, landscaping/ hardscaping, electricity stations/ substations
Company uses a lot of direct labour and own plant, so ability to build up rates from first principals is essential.
Reporting to Commercial Director.
Good working knowledge of the following is preferable:
1. Standard forms of contract – including Public Works, NEC, Engineer’s Ireland, , FIDIC, JCT;
2. Principal civils engineering methods of measurement and standard specifications – including CESMM and NRA/TII documents (or UK equivalents);
3. Software: MS Office suite, including Excel and Project, measurement in PDF/ AutoCAD.
(Estimating/ Valuations software used by the company is Causeway Estimating. Digital document management system is also in place. All training necessary will be provided.)
Salary commensurate with experience. Package would include pension, health insurance, expenses and bonus.
