Clerk of Works – Dublin Region
Our client is a highly regarded Project management company based in Dublin who represent both public, semi state and private entities.
They currently have a number of Clerk of Work roles on educational and commercial construction projects they are project managing for state bodies and are inviting candidates for these roles.
These contracts will range from 12 – 24 months with a typical salary of 50k approximately
Duties:
Oversee that construction works are carried out in accordance with specifications.
Oversee that construction is carried out too "Best Practice" standards.
To provide on-going site information to the companies Project manager who will visit the sire regularly
Monitoring of on-site construction, photographic recording, materials quality and standard; building materials testing and certificate verification; ensuring compliance with contract drawings and specification; measuring and recording all contract variations
Issuing Site Inspection reports in a timely manner to the project manager
Identifying and recording construction defects in a timely manner
Compliance with Health and Safety regulations and awareness of on-site safety and participation at and reporting to site meetings
Keeping accurate electronic and written records of inspections
Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
A National Certificate / National Diploma in Construction Studies or Civil Engineering or a trade qualification.
A proven record and working knowledge and understanding of building construction.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to engage with employees at all levels, to include; contractors, professional consultants, members of the public
A high degree of personal judgment and technical skill
The ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as on own initiative, in an
independent environment and without constant supervision
A good knowledge in Health & Safety Legislation and Regulations in a similar live environment.
Possess a current endorsed full driving license
Have a knowledge of building services, and civil engineering works, and building construction in general
Be IT literate and be capable of writing clear and concise reports, issuing weekly detailed site reports, keeping works records, measuring and recording all variations from the contract and reading drawings
