Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for a full time Health and Safety Co-Ordinator. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a €500 million project preparing for the stabilization of the country's energy grid. The successful candidate will be working on behalf of the PSCS and representing a specialist consultancy.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- You will carry out safety inspections and conduct accident and dangerous occurrence investigations, within your designated area of responsibility.
- You will carry out Risk Assessments & complete Method Statements as required.
- You will liaise with Managers to ensure Health and Safety documentation is up to date.
- You will maintain and track the accident and dangerous occurrence register.
- You'll drive a safety culture by being a champion of best practice; conducting training for new and existing employees on the importance of health and safety on the job; and by suggesting improvements to existing methods of work.
- You will provide a weekly site audit and progress report to the client and team.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Level 7 qualification in Health and Safety.
- Experience in a similar role.
- A strong and proven ability to influence change and be a champion of best practice.
- You must have excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Have good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint), and a general competence in using new technologies (Mobile Apps etc).
- You must possess a full driving licence.
Our client provides EHS Management and Training across a number of industries in Ireland. Currently the team are working on some of Irelands largest construction projects within the Pharmaceutical, Manufacture and Data Centre industry.
As part of our excellent health & safety team your primary role will be to support the creation of a safer workplace. You will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of safety statements, legislation, and company policy across the workplace and that all relevant safety documents are completed and filed correctly as well as training employees on the importance of health and safety on the job.
