Our client is a large international main contractor heavily involved in the construction of Data Centers. As the main contractor on these projects, they build them as a complete package from enabling/civil works through structural build, M&E installation, and commissioning to final client handover.

They are currently seeking a Health and safety Officer for a Data Center under construction in Northern Spain

The company will offer a very attractive salary package for the right candidate which will include return flights every 2 weeks, accommodation etc.

The position would suit somebody with a reason to relocate to Spain or indeed a safety officer who wants the experience of working internationally .Obviously H&S experience in Spain would be a distinct advantage

Duties

Conducting regular, formal site audits and carrying out inspections.
Ensuring that record of statutory inspections are kept for all activities and plant equipment;
Delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or contractors working on site;
Serving as Client representative at Site meetings;
Organising and chairing the Safety Meetings for staff and Sub-Contractors personnel;
Ensuring sub-contractor safety statements and required Method statement are available on site.

Assess sub-contractor statements and method statements, assisting where required;
Advising / assisting Site Management in drafting and communicating Method Statements;
Carry out risk assessments and ensure risks are reduced.

Requirements:

Health and Safety Cert, Diploma or Degree is essential,
With 4+ years of experience.
Previous experience managing safety on site with a main Contractor.
Excellent communication, leadership, training, and presentation skills.
Experience in the construction industry.
