Occupational Health Nurse - Drogheda

Salary: 35k - 40k Depending on Experience
The Occupational Nurse will be responsible for promoting optimum health and well being for all staff to ensure that the business continues to run as efficiently as possible as the site operates 24 hours per day 7 days per week. You will be a central individual to the operations of the plant and will liaise with the company doctor to ensure an effective Occupational Health service on site.
Your key responsibilities will include but are not limited to
Support the development and implementation of the Occupational Health strategy and vision which ensures optimum care.
Work in partnership with Management Teams to increase productivity by lowering sickness absence.
Look to best practice to explore all avenues to facilitate return to work.
Organise and administer pre employment medicals/re-deployment health assessments and health surveillance programmes for staff identified by risk assessment.
Develop a day to day interface with managers and supervisors on site to give advice on individual employees with regard to Health matters.
Identify and champion best practice within the Occupational Health Service.
Conduct Health Checks as necessary and in line with established custom and practice.
Ordering and storage of adequate stock levels of drugs and immunizations
Initiating, maintaining an updating of individual OH records, ensuring confidential, effective and safe operation of manual and electronic systems.
Understanding of Workplace and environmental visits, becoming familiar with work practices and potential work hazards.
Report on Health Promotions in the Workplace and update Excel Spreadsheet on a monthly basis.
Provide expertise across operations by identifying opportunities for health promotions/education/training on Health and Preventative Measures
Promote Healthy initiatives around the site and in particular during certain key periods.
Pro actively contribute to maintaining the company’s targets for managing absences.
Essential Requirements for the Role
3-4 years of work experience ideally in a related field.
3-4 years previous experience in a manufacturing or other environment
State recognized Nursing Qualification
Occupational Health Qualification such as an OHN Certificate
Ability to meet deadlines, be self motivated and results driven the successful incumbent must be detailed orientated.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in the English language.
