Project Planner

Our client is the UK’s largest manufacturer and supplier of precast concrete solutions. They manage projects from conception to completion and handover by providing facilities and general management throughout the build programme. Our client is committed to high quality, cost-effective and sustainable solutions tailored to meet clients’ budgets and expectations.

Purpose of the job:
To assist the planning manager in ensuring contracts are planned for manufacture in accordance with the site dates and customer requirements, whilst maximising the factory capacity.

Working Hours:
8.30am – 5pm Daily

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create load schedules via EasiCad
  • Plan hollowcore beds via Qload
  • Plan T-Beam beds via Qload
  • Be able to carry out a cast plan based on forward load figures
  • Liaise with a range customers regarding deliveries and required visit dates
  • Input manufactured quantities for each contract at the end of each day
  • Create and complete bed schedules for the factory for next day’s cast
  • Be able to read in issued hollowcore and stair drawings into Qload
  • Sort through manufactured schedules and deal with any scrap unites
  • Change visit dates in Qload and split visits where necessary
  • Keep up to date with free stock and test units

Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience:

  • Excellent computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office in particular Excel
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise work and manage a number of tasks concurrently
  • Flexible in their working hours to suit the business needs – the job is not complete until the next day’s cast is planned
  • Ability to work on own initiative but understand level of responsibility within the team
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of people including clients, contractors and colleagues
  • Demonstrate the ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Be a highly motivated individual with initiative, self-confidence, drive and ability to work under their own direction or within a team of professionals
  • Hold a valid driving license
  • AutoCAD Experience would be desirable
