Project Engineer - Derby

Our client is a leading International Engineering Contracting Group of companies providing mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, fire protection and maintenance solutions to world class clients.
Due to growth our client is keen to appoint a Civil Engineer/Project manager for a key project, the development of an industrial facility, an Derby, Anaerobic Digestion facility
To assist in the management of all aspects of site based construction activities in a safe, effective and professional manner. Plan, implement and deliver all works in accordance with the agreed project management plan and contract requirements.
Reporting to the site Project Manager
Ensure all site work activities are planned with safe systems of work
Ensure all Supervision, tradesmen and Sub-contractors are SQEP to undertake the work
Exhibit an excellent Health & Safety attitude and foster the same culture throughout the site
Manage all Supervision, tradesmen and Sub-contractors in a supportive manner
Development and delivery of Mechanical / piping work packs in accordance with the agreed construction programme and target hours schedule
Deployment of sufficient resource in accordance with the agreed construction programme
Prompt daily progress reporting of target hours and scope to the site planning team
Prompt daily completion and submission of daily allocation sheets to the site planning team
Preparation for and attendance of site safety and work co-ordination meetings
Attend daily and weekly site meetings
Compile weekly project reports
Prepare project scope statements, design brief and User Requirement Specifications.
Prepare/Assist with project PFDs/ P&IDs/ mass balances.
Prepare project equipment and line lists.
Prepare data sheets and specifications for procurement of process equipment.
Prepare Design packages for tender and IFC including specifications, scopes of work, tender enquiries and AutoCAD drawings.
Develop philosophy documents for aspects of process design.
Prepare/ participate in HAZOPs, ATEX assessments and other safety reviews.
Co-ordinate with other designers and support the development of all disciplines.
Coordinate design packages between sub consultants, vendors and contractors.
Answer contractor and vendor technical queries.
Approve vendor and contractor submittal approvals.
Set example regarding adherence to PPE requirements and contributing, promoting a safe workplace and positive safety culture.
Prepare preliminary and developed safety and health plans for projects.
Prepare design risk assessments.
Prepare Safety Files, collating as built information for submission to clients.
Attend FATs for process equipment where required.
Prepare project execution plans.
Prepare cost estimates in conjunction with Project Controls Lead and other project engineers.
Prepare project schedule and S-curves in conjunction with Project Controls Lead, updating and reporting on progress, slippage and mitigations.
Maintain a project issue list with mitigations, owners and completion dates.
Maintain a project risk register with mitigations, owners and completion dates.
Manage project change.
Perform quality checks during construction phase as required.
Resolve technical queries as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree in Process, mechanical or building services Engineering
5+ years related industry experience.
Energetic and driven.
Strong organisational skills.
