Project Manager / Associate Director
Working with a professional Project Management, Cost Management, Facilities Management, MEP Management, and Development Monitoring consultancy.
Job Responsibilities
The role will include the following duties and responsibilities:
  • Supervise, control and resource projects to ensure successful execution of program
  • Establish the PEP as well as ongoing revisions to meet project objectives
  • Oversee consultant procurement and deployment within a public and private sector framework
  • Coordinate the development budgets with inputs from the project team for client approval
  • Act as employer’s agent for administration of consultants and appointments
  • Develop and facilitate effective communication between teams
  • Protect the client's interests under various procurement and contracting strategies
  • Take appropriate measures via VM / VE during various stages of the project cycle
  • Monitor and report on progress cost and expenses of projects with timely actions to prevent project and operational failures
  • Identify and mitigate bottlenecks in the development of the design and construction process
  • Monitor cost expenditure within the parameters of the development budget
  • Chair and attend monthly programme level meetings and follow up on actions raised
  • Close-out / Practical Completion of project and documentation
  • Fulfil contractual commitments towards the clients
  • Establish a professional and trusting relationship with the client in a manner that enhances client trust with the firm
  • Overall delivery of projects in compliance with company business and project management procedures
The successful candidate must be commercially aware demonstrate professionalism and competence to effectively achieve project objectives through leadership, setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximise the performance of your team and the site team. As a minimum, candidates must provide evidence of the following
Education and skills required
  • Degree or higher in project management or construction management or civil and structural engineering or quantity surveying or architecture
  • Member of Association of Project Management or similar
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Effective leader with ability to be a team player
  • Excellent written and spoken communication
  • Competent and consistent planner (MSs Project and or Power Project)
  • Microsoft Office suite
  • Reasoned problem solver
  • Good negotiator and influencer
  • Establishment and management of budgets
  • Effective risk management
Essential experience
  • Project management
  • Procurement management
  • Public procurement would be beneficial
  • Public works contracts
  • Problem identification and solving
  • Construction and design methodologies and processes
