Project Manager – Mainland Europe - Civils
Are you a Civil Engineering Project manager looking to work in Europe or looking for a new challenge?
Our client is a European Civil's contractor who are currently engaged in numerous civil engineering projects including Bridges, Roadworks, utilities, Data Centers, etc.
They are currently seeking a Project Manager to add to their existing team.
These projects will be based in Mainland Europe mainly in Holland, Belgium and Germany
RESPONSIBILITIES
Supporting and advising the client on the project design (possibilities, scope, timing, budget, etc.) in order to draw up a project plan.
Developing a detailed plan of approach for the allocated projects taking into account planning, timing, implementation, organisation, quality and budget in order to get the project started and delivered optimally according to the requirements.
Assemble a project team with internal employees and subcontractors in consultation with other facilitating departments with the objective to run and deliver the project.
Stimulate employees in their growth by continuing to develop their competencies, skills and know-how in order to create a well-functioning project team.
Gathering and analysing the necessary information, prioritising on this basis and/or taking the necessary initiatives in order to prevent or resolve problem situations as quickly as possible.
Compare/monitor the site budget against the cost budget.
Setting up and leading project meetings as well as initiating continuous consultations between all the different project stakeholders in order to keep all parties involved informed to create support among all parties involved.
Evaluating and optimising existing project methodologies in order to systematically improve its own operation in terms of efficiency, quality, etc.
Discussing technical aspects with external partners (client, design office, ...) in order to reach a consensus and ensure the smooth implementation of the project.
Checking all quality, environmental and safety aspects related to the execution and delivery of the construction site in order to have the activities carried out in accordance with the legislation.
REQUIREMENTS
You preferably have a degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent through experience.
Min of 10 years’ of relevant experience in construction with a specific emphasis on concrete/CSA and complex underground service works.
Experience with project planning, execution, management and communication with project teams.
Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment procedures applicable in construction
Able to interpret and explain contracts, specifications, drawing and technical information to members of the project team.
Solid knowledge of project management and improving processes.
Language proficiency in English.
Knowledge of the Dutch or German language would be a benefit but not essential
