GIS Project Manager
Our client, a corporate Telecoms/Civils Company specialising in broadband network, are seeking to recruit a GIS Project Manager.
To be considered for the role you will have:
  • 3rd level degree in GIS, IT, Science, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in GIS, or project management preferably in the Telecoms Industry.
  • Technical writing skills for documentation of business requirements.
  • Knowledge of GI Systems; Intergraph – (GeoMedia and GTech Fibre Optic Works), AutoCAD, Google Earth, FME.
  • Good understanding of telco fibre networks (FTTH/FTTB).
  • Self-starter, works well under pressure, able to deliver to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Full drivers licence.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Managing quarterly updates to GIS reference data (GeoDirectory, eircode, OSi & ESB) ensuring system uptime, data integrity and completeness of reference data.
  • Managing GIS system roadmap, enhancements and defects from identification through to resolution
  • Identifying and documenting GIS best practices and company’s GIS requirements, including notification of changes and associated training as required.
  • Creating test cases based on Statements of Work for any changes to GIS.  Managing UAT and assisting with testing as required.
  • Developing reports and conducting data analysis for various internal and external parties utilising GIS tools such as FME, GeoMedia, GTech and Oracle.
  • Providing support and training to company’s GIS users and build contractors.
  • Continuous improvement and development of company’s GIS.
