Quantity Surveyor Mechanical, Dublin West

Our client, a major Irish Mechanical and Process Engineering Contractor, is seeking to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor, to join their specialist team based in Dublin west. The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing all costs, to deliver an optimal commercial outcome related to Process / Mechanical installations and maintenance projects from initiation through to hand-over to the customer. The successful Quantity Surveyor will work closely with the construction managers and will report to the Senior Quantity Surveyor. 
 
The role involves:
Reviewing tenders, rates, preliminaries, terms and conditions, prior to commencement of a contract.
Preparing interim and final accounts and progressing applications per project and contract requirements.
Managing commercial meetings with the client, sub-contractors and the internal team. 
General commercial management of sub-contractors.
Generating timely reports on the status of the project.
Raising sales invoices against works completed.
Costing and agreeing daily work changes to include site day works and site change orders.
 
To be considered for the role you must:
Hold a Degree (level 8) in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or similar.
Have more than 3 years experience as a Quantity Surveyor (Contractor or PQS)
Be proficient in the English language (spoken, written, technical). 
Be proficient in Microsoft Office and a high level of computer literacy.
Have strong numeracy and financial management skills.
Have an acute business acumen and keen commercial awareness.
 
Ideally you will have:
Have experience with a Mechanical or Building Services Contractor.
Have ability to negotiation and build rapport with customers and subcontractors.
Be decisive and able to make commercial decisions.
Have a good understanding and an appreciation of Health & Safety regulations.
 
Rewards: 
Permanent status role with a long established and reputable contractor, based in west Dublin.
Immediate vacant position due to Client winning major new projects.
Remuneration is negotiable depending on the qualifications, experience, suitability and fit of the candidate. However, the ideal candidate can expect remuneration in the order of: c €70,000 pa + car + company benefits.
