O’Neill & Brennan are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of our client, specialise in bespoke industrial construction, innovation and sustainability.
This role is based in North Dublin, and the successful candidate must have a Quantity Surveying degree, a minimum of 2+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveying role.
Quantity Surveyor responsibilities include:
- Advise on contractual matters – general and project level.
- Undertake post contract delivery.
- Process contractual claims and all associated records.
- Look for opportunities to maximise revenue and reduce cost and identify and investigate losses.
- Assist with project cash flow.
- Advise and support with project correspondence.
- Assisting the negotiation and agreement with subcontractors.
- Validate and approve sub-contractors’ interim applications and final submissions, including compliance with the Construction Contracts Act.
- Negotiating subcontract and suppliers’ prices and terms.
- Helping to ensure final accounts are closed in a timely manner.
- Ensure timely drafting of commercial/contractual correspondence.
- Prepare subcontract and suppliers documents.
- Prepare and review monthly cost reports.
- Variations: measurement and pricing.
- Variations: Negotiate with all stakeholders.
- Attend site/subcontractor meetings and design team meetings.
Quantity Surveyor requirements:
- Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.
- 2+ years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor role on construction projects.
- Strong time management skills.
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of the construction industry and working on site.
- Ability to use time productively, maximize efficiency and meet challenging work goals.
- Demonstrates commercial awareness – market, competition, value for money.
