Job Title: Permanent Way Designer, Rail Expansion project and Control Centre.
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Duration; Long Term fixed purpose contracts for the duration of the project/works directly with the Employer.
Salary : Circa €70,000 (negotiable doe) (plus relocation or non-resident package as applicable)
Full time, 36 hr contracts, 25 days annual leave.
Expansion of existing electrified transit network from the existing 50 km to 150 km
Development of national Train Control Centre; signalling and communications control across the entire network and thereby optimising rail traffic management and origin to destination performance.
Be part of this exciting phase of growth under this Capital Investment Programme valued at €2.5 billion. The capacity of the rail network will be transformed by the infrastructure expansion, including four-tracking, electrification, a new signalling system and new rolling stock
Duties will include;
Produce permanent way infrastructure designs; track layout designs and horizontal and vertical alignment design in accordance with relevant technical and safety standards
Associated drawings; stage planning of implementation designs, technical and safety approval of permanent way designs
Professional support; design and implementation of projects undertaken by the Programme Manager(s).

An Engineering, Construction or related discipline degree
3 - 5 years railway infrastructure project design experience in relevant engineering environment
Experience using AutoCAD to produce drawings
Strong leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills
Relevant experience of working to technical and safety standards
Experience in the production of permanent way infrastructure designs including; track layout designs and horizontal and vertical alignment design
Familiar with track connections geometry i.e. Turnouts and crossovers
A full driving licence
Experience of using track alignment design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley Rail
Track or Bentley Open Rail Designer etc
A knowledge of B.I.M (Building Information modelling)
Experience in the production of general civil engineering drawings
Experience in the design of complex, multi-disciplinary railway projects
A good working knowledge of railway infrastructure and systems
Experience and knowledge of technical approvals processes for track and signalling
