Control Systems Project Manager

An internationally recognised industry leader in Equipment System Integration and System Support is seeking a Control Systems Project Manager to be based in Limerick. This growing company which has been established for over 10 years works in the Pharma, Medical Device, Healthcare and Food and Beverage Sectors with clients who require high level expertise in industrial IT integration and regulatory compliance. This is a forward thinking and innovative company who have worked to address a skills shortage in manufacturing by developing a new Masters programme in Mechatronics at the University of Limerick, which is the first of its kind in Europe.

This is a permanent Senior level position offering the opportunity to work on client tailored programmes and oversee and manage the development, commissioning and support of automation and control systems of leading technologies. Main Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the project management of automation and control systems design and specification programming, simulation, testing and start-up.
  • You will provide technical expertise in Automation and lead and interact with up to 10 System Engineers working on different projects for development
  • Interact with customers on technical requirements and deliver technical solutions
  • Assess existing technologies and process and design robust solutions
  • Run Installations and commissioning works and project to schedules
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • BSc Degree in Engineering or equivalent with particular emphasis in electrical, mechanical, electronic, automation and/or chemical discipline
  • At least 10 years’ experience in industry, preferably in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, blue chip or relevant GMP manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Vision Systems in the manufacturing environment
  • A recognised qualification in project management is a distinct advantage
  • Proven technical experience in PLC logic and programming of Allen Bradley (Logix 5000), Siemens (Step7), Elau, Bosch, B&R, Mitsubishi
  • HMI or SCADA programming and configuration of the following software packages including Wonderware InTouch, RS View, Siemens, Labview, GE Cimplicity
  • Strong interpersonal skills are required.
