A PLC/Automation Engineer is being recruited by an organisation involved in Automation, Process Control and Instrumentation. This company currently focus their efforts on the water and power industries. This business is growing quickly and they have plans to expand into further markets. They are a leading supplier of products and services to several industries in the Irish market and provide innovative training and education programs. They have extensive experience in managing Large Projects in a variety of industries and provide the highest levels of quality to all aspects of their work.

If you are a PLC, Automation or Computer Science Engineer, have a strong PLC background with great interpersonal, problem solving and analysis skills this role could be for you. In this role, you will be working with many aspects of PLC code development and SCADA development and installs. Being able to demonstrate a methodical, logical and consistent approach to design and deployment processes is important for this opportunity.

You will be predominantly office based but site visits will be necessary at certain times.
What you will be responsible for:
  • Creating software design specifications and associated documentation for solutions
  • The development of PLC code in line with ISO procedures and defined standards
  • Liaising with other Engineers on implementation of SCADA software
  • Use of PLC programming software for ABB, Schneider, Allen Bradley & Omron PLCs
  • Training of clients on the use of application once implemented
  • Maintaining a consistency of the quality throughout all projects
  • Maintenance of projects once implemented
  • General all round Housekeeping of all PLC development projects
What you will need to be successful:
  • A minimum of 3 years demonstrable experience in PLC solutions with a minimum of 2 of the following (ABB, Schneider, Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Mitsubishi or Motorola)
  • Demonstrable experience in controls systems design and application
  • Experience in SCADA - ICONICS, Citect, InTouch or similar
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Database Manager and all Microsoft office applications
  • Networks: Ethernet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet, ControlNet
  • Excellent communication and customer facing skills
  • The ability to work to deadlines
