We are looking for a reliable and responsible Traffic Marshal to join our civil engineering team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and directing traffic around active civil construction works, helping to maintain a safe environment for site workers, pedestrians and road users.
This is a hands-on role. While traffic management will be the main responsibility, the successful candidate should be willing to assist with general construction and site duties when required, particularly during quieter periods.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and control traffic safely around construction and civil engineering works.
• Manage the movement of vehicles entering and leaving the site.
• Assist with pedestrian and traffic management around active works.
• Ensure vehicles and members of the public are kept safely away from construction areas.
• Communicate clearly with site management, groundworkers, plant operators and drivers.
• Set up, maintain and remove traffic management signage, cones, barriers and pedestrian routes as required.
• Monitor changing site conditions and report any safety concerns to the Site Supervisor.
• Help maintain a safe, clean and organised work area.
• Assist the site team with general labouring and construction duties when required.
• Help with materials, site preparation, cleaning, moving equipment and other reasonable site tasks.
• Follow all company and site health & safety procedures.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Traffic Marshal / Banksman / Traffic Controller on construction or civil engineering sites.
• Valid Safe Pass required.
• Good understanding of construction site safety and traffic management.
• Ability to communicate clearly and confidently with drivers, site workers and members of the public.
• Reliable, punctual and safety-conscious.
• Physically fit and comfortable carrying out general site duties.
• Willing to help with general works when required.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Ireland.
• Relevant traffic management, banksman, manual handling or other construction tickets are an advantage.
• Previous civil engineering or groundworks experience is an advantage.
