Operations / General Manager - Structural Steel & Fabrication

My client is a very large and highly reputable multinational construction and engineering company based in Kildare, with a commercially successful Structural Steel & Fabrication division. Due to continued growth and a reshuffle of senior management, they require an Operations / General Manager to look after this division.
Products include bridges, gantrys, welded structural steel frames, pipe fabrication, pressurised vessels etc.
Requirements:
- Develop and influence effective teams in the fabrication yard and workshop to achieve superior output
- Possess the Business Development skills to administer a customer experience to deepen relationships and build sales.
- Interact with potential clients to discuss and secure submitted tenders with the opportunity to secure future workload
- Liaise with client Design Team and lead the design development where required
- Leading commercial excellence with P&L responsibility
- Play a key role in developing / implementing business strategies
- Instil a high-performance safety culture throughout the business
- Have creative and strategic agility to recognize and size-up existing and emerging market and product opportunities
- Provide support to design/production functions to look at innovation and product development, to improve offering of the business
What you'll need to succeed:
Ideally a qualification in Structural Engineering or other related technical subject.
Minimum of 10yrs Project / Contracts Manager or director experience in the structural steel industry with a similiar company, or in the precast industry
Good technical knowledge of Structural Steel & Fabrication
Experience in dealing with external clients / design professionals.
Excellent analytical, financial and communication skills.
