The mission of the Department of Education is to ensure that all children and young people have access to a positive learning experience and to facilitate them, through learning to realise their full potential and contribute to Ireland’s social, economic and cultural development.
The Planning and Building Unit (PBU) of the Department is responsible for identifying current and future infrastructure requirements. It oversees a capital programme to deliver school accommodation to the required standard, within the allocated resources, and in line with the strategic direction of the Department.
The Department now has vacancies for Building Maintenance Managers to support the PBU. This senior level position offers an exciting opportunity for ambitious, enthusiastic and committed professionals with a strong commitment to serving the public interest, capable of contributing at a high level to the strategic direction of the organisation.
The Building Maintenance Manager will be responsible for implementing regional maintenance frameworks for consultants and contractors and developing and adopting a formal asset management strategy across the schools estate. In addition, they will lead and manage technical and administrative staff in the area and develop strategies with key stakeholders.
