Safety Officer - (Residential Development) Kildare

  • Salary up to €55,000 DOE plus vehicle, pension, healthcare, bonus (Full benefits listed below)

An experienced Health & Safety Advisor is required to join a site team in a new residential development consisting of 130 units in Kildare. As part of their excellent health & safety team your primary role will be to support the creation of a safer construction site. You will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of safety statements, legislation and company policy across the site and that all relevant safety documents are completed and filed correctly as well as training employees on the importance of health and safety on the job.

You'll drive a safety culture by being a champion of best practice, conducting training for new and existing employees on the importance of health and safety on the job and by suggesting improvements to existing methods of work

Your role will also involve:

  • Providing general support and assistance to the Senior Health & Safety Manager
  • Carrying out site safety inspections and conducting accident and dangerous occurrence investigations, within your designated area of responsibility
  • Carrying out Risk Assessments & completing Method Statements as required.
  • Liaising with Site Managers to ensure Health and Safety documentation is up to date on site
  • Maintaining and tracking the accident and dangerous occurrence register

You will need:

  • A minimum of a Level 7 qualification in Health and Safety
  • Significant experience in a similar role in Ireland
  • Some experience within the residential construction sector in Ireland
  • A strong and proven ability to influence change and be a champion of best practice
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, PowerPoint), and a general competence in using new technologies (Mobile Apps etc)
  • A full clean driving licence
